Giada Giorgi was born in Italy in the 1978. She graduated (M.Sc.) in Telecommunication Engineering and received the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications and Microelectronics from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2003 and 2007 respectively. She is an Associate Professor in Electronic Measurements with the Department of Information Engineering (DEI) of the University of Padova (Italy), where she takes the courses of “Measurement Architectures for Cyber-Physical Systems”, “Sensing and Measurement Systems” and “Instrumentations for Electronics”.
Her research activity is mainly focused on the designing of signal processing algorithms and analysis and development of distributed measurement systems in different application contexts. This activity concerns, but it is not limited to, the development of synchronization solutions, compression algorithms and signal processing algorithms for event-based systems and anomalies detection. She is author and co-author of several scientific papers, published in international journals and conference proceedings.
In the 2017, she received the “25 most downloaded Sensor Journal papers” acknowledgment from the IEEE Sensor Journal Council and in the 2019 the “Best Paper Award” from the IEEE Measurement and Networking (M&N) committee. She regularly serves as reviewer the IEEE Transaction on Instrumentation ad Measurements and she was co-chair for the IEEE Conference M&N. She is a member of the working group IEEE TC-37
